Unlike the 1996 version, by the same author, this book is filled with over 100 black & white and full colour plates of rare, old and new fencing books.

Emphasis was placed on correcting mistakes found in earlier bibliographies, verifying the existence of and finding an actual physical location for each publication entry. The bibliography replaces those produced by Jacopo Gelli (1895), Carl Thimm (1896), José Ramon García Donnell (1926) and later works by Falk Schwigat (1987), Lászlo Nagy (1987) and Henk Pardoel (1996). Endorsed highly by Henrik Andersson, Curator of the massive Emile Fick fencing collection housed in the Swedish Royal Armouries, this bibliography is a must have for serious collectors of fencing literature and memorabilia.
